Our Founding Story Ceremonies by James — Where Every Love Story Deserves a Beautiful Beginning Sometimes, the most meaningful journeys in life begin with a simple request. Ceremonies by James was founded on a belief that marriage is more than a ceremony. It is a promise, a commitment, and the beginning of a new chapter in two people’s lives. My journey into wedding officiating began in a rather unexpected way. After spending more than 20 years in public service and later becoming a commissioned Kentucky Notary Public, I found myself helping individuals and families with some of life’s most important documents and decisions. Along the way, couples began asking me a simple question: “Can you marry us?” At first, wedding officiating wasn’t something I had planned to pursue. But those requests opened my eyes to an opportunity to serve people in an entirely different and deeply rewarding way. I became an ordained minister, allowing me to legally officiate wedding ceremonies in Kentucky. What began as an opportunity to help couples soon developed into something much more meaningful. And that is how Ceremonies by James came to life. I quickly discovered that no two couples share the same journey. Every relationship has its own beginnings, challenges, laughter, special memories, and dreams for the future. I didn’t want to simply stand before a couple, read a few traditional words, and pronounce them married. I wanted to help create a moment they would remember for the rest of their lives. That philosophy became the foundation of Ceremonies by James. Today, I take pride in offering personalized wedding ceremonies that reflect each couple’s unique love story, values, personalities, and wishes. Whether it’s a small, intimate elopement, a traditional wedding surrounded by family and friends, or a simple celebration in a beautiful Kentucky setting, my goal remains the same: to make every couple feel comfortable, respected, and truly celebrated.
